One of the many badges that Beavers can earn is the “Hikes Away” badge. The Hikes Away badge is a “stage” badge, which can be carried up to Cubs and Scouts. Meet Foxy at 100 Acres (Bere Forest) near Wickham, at 10.30am. Families and Dogs on leads are very welcome. Please dress for the weather, but neckers and woggles are a must. If the weather is OK, why not bring a picnic. There is a low ropes obstacle course to play on after the Hike (only about a mile). We may even try to build a shelter (to put our new found skills to use). See you there. Click on picture for google map.
Iron your Neckers and polish your shoes – it’s Investiture Night. Our newest Beaver recruits will be welcomed into the Scouting community. New Beavers will need to learn their Promise (though they will get help on the night). “I promise to do my best, to be kind and helpful, and to love God”.
We will also be playing games – some new, some old.
See you next week.
Beavers all enjoyed playing games for Buttons tonight! Red and Yellow Riverbanks tied to win this evenings competition, but all Riverbank scores were very close. Everyone played nicely, and there were no tears! Well done Guys. We had “Guess Who”, “Battleships”, “Connect 4″ and loads of other games on the go.
Great fun was had by all on Thursday. A big Thank you to PCSO Stanton for hosting our visit (and to all his lovely colleagues) to Fareham Police Station. We experienced life in the holding cells, we climbed all over a Police Van and we played with hand-cuffs and an Asp. We also tried on a Police helmet and stab vest. Then we were all finger-printed!
BOOK NOW for Paulton’s Park. It will be a fantastic day for all Beavers and their siblings and parents. We can use all the rides, walk through the Winter Wonderland and, as a group, we meet Santa and receive an early Christmas present! Grown-ups get a drink and a mince pie! Picnic lunches can be taken or you can purchase food and drink at the various food outlets throughout the park.
For this day we can get a special price of £13.00 per person if we book BEFORE 30th September so you need to get your skates on!
Please complete the sign-up form and return with payment ASAP either through my door at 6 Cutlers Lane or via the next Beaver meeting.
