We will be joining 1st Stubbington Cubs at Lyons Copse for a Funtastic Camp-Fire (6PM-8PM). If you haven’t been to a Scout Camp-Fire before, you are in for a real treat. We sing silly songs, tell jokes and do little skits (mini plays). Make sure you wrap up warm and bring a torch. Mums and Dads are very welcome to stay – we recommend that you bring a deck chair and a flask of something warm. There should be room on the wooden benches for the children.
If you get the chance to get together with any fellow Beavers over the Half Term holiday, perhaps you could learn a little song together to sing at the Camp-fire, or learn a joke or two. Please can you try to practice the Spaghetti song? Here are the words (it is to the tune of the first line only of “On top of old Smokey”):-
On top of spaghetti, all covered in cheese, I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed.
It rolled off the table and onto the floor, and then my poor meatball rolled out of the door.
It rolled in the garden and under a bush, and then my poor meatball was nothing but mush!
If you have spaghetti all covered with cheese, hold on to your meatball, coz someone might sneeze!
